With heavy rust, you can safely wait a few hours.

The vinegar must sufficiently soften the rust. It allows you to remove the rust with a brush easily. For example, remove the rust with a toothbrush and let the object dry. If there are still traces of rust, repeat the process until the rust is removed.

Spread this paste on the rusted part and let it sit for about 30 minutes. It may be that more time is needed. Spray some water on the pasta when you see it begin to dry out. Once the pasta has done its job, it’s time to grab a brush again. Scrub with this brush to remove the rust. Then rinse the object thoroughly to remove the rust and paste. The process may need to be repeated until the purpose is entirely rust-free.

Remove rust with potatoes and baking soda

Baking soda is one of the most versatile and useful ingredients when it comes to household chores. The use of baking soda in combination with a potato may sound strange but can do wonders when it comes to removing rust.

Start by cutting the potato into two pieces. Then sprinkle some baking soda on the inside of the potato. Rub the potato with the inside over the rusted area to remove the rust. Because potatoes have acidic properties, they are useful in removing rust.
